On Saturday 9th March 2024, a group of 12 took on the challenge to walk the 24k route, more commonly known as the Fan Dance in the Brecon Beacons. Led by two ex Special Forces guys, two groups set off, all completing the challenge within 5 hours. The weather was changeable and the teams were met with foggy conditions at the top of Pen Y Fan, but on the descent via Jacob's Ladder, the clouds cleared and the sun shone.
For many of the participants this was the first time they had taken on such a gruelling walk. The Fan Dance is no easy task; there are steep climbs, sharp precipices and changeable conditions which make the challenge even harder.
Trevor Goodall, Founder of the charity managed the support vehicle which was placed at the half way to give the participants the chance of a quick break and refreshments. The total raised was £2000 which will go towards buying neonatal equipment for any requests that the charity receives this year.
Thank you to all who took part.
