Jan and Sean first heard about the charity from one of their daughters who had had a difficult pregnancy seven years ago and whose baby benefited from some equipment funded by New Life.
Both are retired but are busier than ever! Sean volunteers with Mencap and The Canal and River Trust, whilst Jan volunteers with Home Start. They have been supporters of New Life for many years and are dab hands at running the Pimms stand at our biggest charity golf day!
"We both love keeping fit and particularly enjoy cycling. The first challenge we attempted with New Life" said Sean, "was the second D-Day Cycling event that Trevor organised. That was when we were introduced to his 'loose' assessment of mileage! A 90 mile ride soon turned out to be a 120 mile ride!"
Jan and Sean have taken part in many cycling events organised by New Life which have taken them abroad and around many of the home counties.
They always have a smile on their faces and are willing to go the extra mile for the charity (or miles when it comes to the D-Day event!). Thanks to their daughter, Jan and Sean were introduced to New Life and have been loyal supporters ever since.
What keeps them supporting us?
They both admit that hearing the personal stories from parents who have benefited from equipment funded by New Life and the impact it has had on their baby is what keeps them motivated and focused. "The work that New Life does" said Jan "is truly life changing for so many families. Who wouldn't want to be a part of this fundraising!"
