Our CEO Trevor has been awarded the West Berkshire Lifetime Achievement Award because of his commitment to providing specialist equipment for Swindon, Reading and Oxford hospitals, all of which are used by local mums-to-be. For any family faced with their baby being born prematurely, the availability of specialist neonatal care and equipment is a comforting factor at a tremendously difficult time. New Life has provided over £500k to these three hospitals over the years which has made a significant difference to the care they are able to provide and to the chances of survival for the babies they care for.
After receiving the news Trevor said ‘I am humbled to have been nominated and to be the winner of this fantastic award. I am just so pleased the charity has been able to help so many babies across the UK over the past 26 years and to give them a little kickstart into the world. Reaching the £1 million last year was such a milestone and a wonderful legacy for Joshua and Samuel. I hope that in 2022 we will reach new and exciting milestones including finding an Ambassador to help us raise the next £1m!’
Chairman of West Berkshire Council, Councillor Clive Hooker congratulated the winners, saying ‘the calibre of nominations was extremely high this year and I'm delighted that we have been able to recognise some exceptional community champions. The judging panel found Trevor to be a very worthy winner who has raised more than £1,000,000 and used a personal tragedy to make a difference for the benefit of a great many people. He has shown commitment and dedication over 25 years and is a true Community Champion.’
