The Three Peaks is no mean challenge but 'Team Blood, Sweat and Beers' took it on for New Life with vigour!
Over the weekend of 20/21 August the all female team led by Millie Morgan, tackled Ben Nevis, Scafell and Snowdon in an astonishing 22 hours, 15 minutes!
Team Leader Millie said, 'Firstly I’m so proud of everyone for completing it! It was a joy doing with you all I’ve had the best time ever ever ever loving every second. Secondly a big thank you to Kev for driving (I don’t know how he did it) providing both food, hot drinks, and banter along the way. Trevor, thank you so so much for allowing us to do this for your amazing cause I feel so humbled and honoured and hope it gets even more money in the days to come… can’t wait for the next challenge!'
The fundraising target set was £5,000 and by the end of the weekend the team had raised over £3,000 so were absolutely delighted. There were many highlights to the challenge, one being the three hours, 42 minutes to ascend and descend Scafell.
The girls had trained hard for the weekend and were grateful for the reasonable weather they had, making it just that little bit more enjoyable!
A few final words from Millie summed up the weekend, 'It was incredible to have the opportunity to endure and complete the national three peaks challenge with some of my closest friends, making fantastic memories while raising money for such an amazing charity. It definitely wasn’t easy but well worth it to be able to contribute to the amazing work that New Life does.'
The fundraising total continues to rise and donations are still coming in. For anyone wishing to contribute, the link is here.
