We are delighted to announce that Sportathon 2026 was another outstanding success, raising an incredible £45,000. This surpasses our 2025 total by £2,000, continuing our year-on-year growth and demonstrating the amazing support we receive from our community.
This year’s event was all about collaboration, bringing together even more members of the local community, businesses, volunteers and supporters to make a real difference for babies and families in our region.
For the first time, New Life Charity joined forces with BIBS, a fellow local charity dedicated to supporting the Buscot Ward at the Royal Berkshire Hospital. This exciting partnership enabled us to work together towards two important projects that will directly benefit neonatal care across Berkshire and Hampshire.
The funds raised this year will contribute towards:
- An incubator for the Buscot Ward at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading, with an estimated cost of £24,000.
- Vital equipment for the Neonatal Unit at Basingstoke Hospital, with an estimated cost of £20,000.
The success of Sportathon 2026 would not have been possible without the incredible support of our participants, sponsors, volunteers, donors and the team at David Lloyd Newbury. Your generosity and commitment continue to help us provide life-changing equipment and support for local neonatal units.
